Terms of Service
Draft — last updated October 2026. Subject to legal review before public launch.
The service
Autter provides a QR code that lets people send one-way messages to a vehicle owner. Autter is free for individual drivers. We try to deliver every alert, but SMS, email and browser notifications depend on third-party networks and can be delayed or fail. Autter is not an emergency service: in an emergency, call 911.
Your account
- You must be able to receive SMS at the number you register and be at least 16 years old.
- You're responsible for where you display your QR code.
- You can pause, replace or turn off your code and delete your account at any time.
Acceptable use
Don't use Autter to harass, threaten, stalk, advertise, spam, impersonate anyone, or send unlawful content. Don't attempt to discover an owner's identity, scrape codes, or bypass rate limits or security controls. We may suspend codes or accounts that break these rules.
SMS alerts
By registering you agree to receive verification codes and message alerts by SMS. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop SMS alerts, or turn them off in Settings.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Autter isn't liable for losses caused by an alert that wasn't delivered or was delayed, or by the content of messages written by senders. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Québec Consumer Protection Act.
