Is Autter free?
Yes. Autter is free for individual drivers.
Does the person scanning need an app?
No. They scan with their phone camera, which opens a web page. No app, no account.
Can someone find my phone number or name from my QR code?
No. The QR code contains a random code that links to a message form. It never contains or reveals your phone number, name, email, or licence plate.
Can I reply to the sender?
Not through Autter. Messages are one-way so strangers can't start a conversation with you. If the sender chose to share their phone number, you'll see it and can call or text them yourself.
What if someone sends me abusive messages?
Report the message and block the sender from your inbox. You can also pause your QR code or replace it with a new one. The old code stops working immediately.
Do I need to enter my car or licence plate?
No. Your account only needs a mobile number.
How will I be notified?
By text message by default. You can also turn on email alerts and browser notifications in Settings.
Does Autter track where my car is?
No. Autter doesn't collect your car's location or track people who scan your code.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, anytime from Settings. Your QR code stops working and your personal data and messages are erased.
Which languages is Autter available in?
English, French, Spanish and Arabic. Switch anytime from the language menu at the top of the page.
