How Autter works
A QR code in your car. A private alert on your phone. Nothing personal in between.
If you own the car
- 1Sign up with your mobile number and confirm it with a code we text you.
- 2Autter creates your personal QR code right away.
- 3Print it at home, cut it out, and place it inside your windshield.
- 4When someone scans it and sends a message, you get a text alert. Sign in to read it.
If you need to reach a car's owner
- 1Point your phone camera at the Autter QR code.
- 2Choose what's going on, like "Your lights are on", and edit the message if you want.
- 3Tap Notify owner. That's it. No app, no account.
- 4If you want the owner to call you back, you can choose to share your number. It's off by default.
What each side can see
The owner sees: the reason, your message, the time, and your phone number only if you chose to share it.
The sender sees: a confirmation that the message was submitted. Never the owner's name, number, or whether they read it.
